Clara Paulson, 89

Brooklyn Center - Clara Paulson, 89, formerly of Greenbush, died Wednesday, January 14, 1998 at the Marenatha Care Center in Brooklyn Center.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, January 17 at Bethel Lutheran Church in Greenbush with Reverend Ernie Christensen officiating. Linda Sovde was the organist, and Marie Olson was the vocalist. Casketbearers were grandsons William and Michael Paulson, Mark and James Laker, Scott McCoid, Todd Wilson and William Hedman. Her other grandchildren served as honorary casketbearers. Burial was at Bethel Lutheran Cemetery. The Gieseke Funeral Home of Greenbush was in charge of the arrangements.

Clara Aas was born on August 20, 1908 at Greenbush, the daughter of John and Bertha (Williamson) Aas. She grew to adulthood in Greenbush.

On August 9, 1932 she was united in marriage to William R. Paulson at Halma. For nine years they made their home at Strathcona before moving to Greenbush in 1941. Bill died on June 25, 1981. Clara continued to live in Greenbush until 1994 when she moved to the Minneapolis area to be near her children.

Clara's life surrounded around family and friends. She enjoyed baseball, the sports that her children and grandchildren participated in, embroidery and quilting.

Clara is survived by five daughters, Ruth (Charles) Villbrecht of Seattle, WA, Barbara (Steve) Wilson of Kamiah, ID, Mary (Douglas) Laker of Brooklyn Center, Ruby (James) McCoid of McCall, ID and Lois (John) Hedman of Mankato; one son, William Ray (Janet) Paulson of Milaca; 20 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
