Lawrence P. Paulsen, 80

Greenbush - Lawrence P. Paulsen, 80, died Monday, November 24, 1997 at the Roseau Area Hospital.

Services were held Saturday, November 29 at 10 a.m. at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Greenbush. Father Don Braukmann was the officiant. Special music was provided by Cynthia Efta. James Efta was the reader, and Alice Blawat, Christine Stanislawski and Pat Gryskiewicz were the eucharistic ministers. Casketbearers were Jimmy Dybedahl, Paul Troskey, Floyd Blawat, Wayne Cummins, Roy Hlucny and Curtis Wiskow. Interment was at the Badger City Cemetery. Arrangements were with the Collins Funeral Home of Greenbush.

Lawrence Peter Paulsen, the son of Peter and Caroline (McFarlane) Paulsen, was bon on March 27, 1917 in Barnett township of Roseau County near Greenbush. He attended school and grew to manhood there.

On September 5, 1942 he was united in marriage to Ella Gust at Greenbush. The couple lived and farmed in Barnett township for over 40 years. Ella passed away on December 20, 1986, and Lawrence continued to make his home on the farm.

On November 30, 1991 he married Agnes Troskey at Greenbush, and the couple has since made their home in Barto township near Greenbush.

He was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church of Greenbush.

Lawrence is survived by his wife, Agnes; three step-daughters, Marian (Robert) Dybedahl of Roseau, Rose Mary (Leonard) Mlodzik of Chisholm and Betty (Earl) Gorsuch of Halma; one step-son, Clayton (Pat) Troskey of Middle River; 14 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; four sisters, Viona Wiskow of Roseau, Pauline Peterson of Greenbush, Irene Smith of Two Harbors and Agnes Hogan of Greenbush; and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Ella; and two brothers, Morris and Walter.
