James L. Parnham, 72

Carson, CA - James L. Parnham, 72, a former Thief River Falls resident, died Sunday, February 1, 1998 at Bay Harbor Hospital in Carson, CA.

James LeRoy Parnham was born December 13, 1925 in Des Moines, IA, the son of Francis and Vera Parnham. They later resided in Inglewood, CA.

On April 8, 1945 he was united in marriage to Anna (Gillespie) Israelson at Bremerton, WA where Jim was stationed in the Navy. They moved to Thief River Falls in 1947 where he worked for the Soo Line Railroad from 1947 until 1949. The couple then returned to California where he worked at the Serve-U-Meat processing plant in Los Angeles.

On December 2, 1963 he married Claudette Iverson. They resided in Carson, CA, and Jim continued to work at the meat processing plant until 1979. He then worked for El Camino College in Torrence, CA as a heating and air conditioning specialist until his retirement in 1989.

Jim is survived by his wife, Claudette; one daughter, Nancy (Thomas) Issendorf of Thief River Falls; three sons, Kenneth (Rita) Parnham of Newfolden; Bruce Parnham of Edina; and Gerald Parnham of Wasilla, AK; one step- daughter, Jackie (Robert) Dupperon of Perris, CA; two stepsons, Rick Iverson at Guam Naval Station and Kirk (Debbie) Parnham of Centralia, WA; 17 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one grandson.
