
Phoenix, AZ - Wilfred J. Ostlund, 69, died Monday, February 10, 1997 in Arizona. Arrangements were with Stennes Funeral Home of East Grand Forks.
Funeral services were held Thursday, February 13 at the Stennes Funeral Home Chapel in East Grand Forks. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery of East Grand Forks in the spring.
Wilfred J. Ostlund was born on August 6, 1927 in Holt, the son of John and Anna (Meyers) Ostlund. He grew up and attended school in Goodridge. He served his country in the United States Air Force in Hamburg, Germany. He worked as a rodeo performer for many years. He married Betty Sannes in Crookston on June 17, 1950. He then worked in heavy construction in North Dakota and Minnesota, moving to Effie where he worked as a logger. He moved to East Grand Forks and then to Phoeniz, AZ in 1984.
He is survived by sons Timothy (Linda) of Crookston, David (Sharon) of Phoenix, MN, Sheldon of Houston, TX and Kim of Maple Grove; daughters Betty-Diane Ostlund of Phoenix, AZ, Madonna (Robert) Combs of Anchorage, Alaska, and Holly Peterson of Halstad; 19 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; brothers Kenneth of Lake Bronson, Earl of Fergus Falls, Philip of East Grand Forks, Donald of East Grand Forks and Larry of Fosston; sisters Lorraine (Jerry) Cullerton of Atlantic City, NJ, and Bernice (Kermit) Valleen of St. Croix Falls, WI.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister Ione; and brothers Jospeh and Rodney.
