Lindstrom - Doris J. Ostby, 55, died Wednesday, March 4, 1998 at the Green Acres Country Care Center in Lindstrom.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, March 10 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Lindstrom with Reverend Donald Oldenburg officiating. A private family interment will be held in Thief River Falls. The Grandstrand Funeral Home of Lindstrom is in charge of the arrangements.
Doris was born January 15, 1943 at Thief River Falls, the daughter of Clarence and Myrtle Nelson. She attended school in Goodridge and graduated in 1960. On February 20, 1961 she married Philip Ostby.
Interested in everything, Doris enjoyed her friends and family, gardening, painting, bird watching, canoeing, camping, tree planting and volleyball.
She is survived by her husband, Philip; two sons, David (Kathleen) Ostby of Oakview, CA and Kevin of Thief River Falls; two grandchildren; her father, Clarence Nelson and his wife, Mae, of Thief River Falls; two brothers, Kenneth (Gerry) Nelson and Vernon Nelson, both of Highlanding; and one sister, Genevieve (Allen) Swenson of Hettinger, ND.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Myrtle Drager.
