
Bloomington - Rodney Omundson, 45, died Thursday, March 5, 1998 as a result of injuries sustained in a traffic accident at Prior Lake.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, March 10 at the Nativity of Mary Church in Blooming-ton with Rev. Robert E. Johnson officiating. Casket- bearers were Mike Chris-tiansen, Rod-ney Jorgenson, Terry Patterson, Pat Christiansen, Don Kasprzk, Marty Christiansen and John Christiansen. Burial was in Resurrection Cemetery in Mendota Heights. Gill Brothers Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
Rodney James Omundson was born on September 27, 1952 at Warren, the son of Iven Gilmen and Betty Omundson. He grew up in Warren and graduated from Warren High School in 1970. He attended Bemidji State University for two years before transferring to Moorhead State University. He graduated from MSU in 1974.
On April 27, 1974 Rodney was united in marriage to Jacqueline Christiansen at Minneapolis. He worked as an assistant manager of the Shipside Room at the Radisson South Hotel and as office manager of a dental company. In 1979, he began working for Western Insurance Company in Woodbury. The company was purchased by AMEV and later by Fortis, Inc. At Fortis, he was voice systems manager. He traveled extensively, and in 1997 became a officer of Fortis, Inc.
Rodney is survived by his wife, Jackie, one son, Michael, two daughters, Amanda and Lisa, all of Bloomington; his mother, Betty Westberg of Warren; one brother Wayne (Diane) Omundson of Fosston; one sister, Carolyn (Rodney) Jorgenson of Warren; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Gilmen Omundson; stepfather, Roy Westberg; and an infant niece.
