Rose Olson, 77

Lake Bronson - Rose J. Olson, 77, died Monday, August 14, 2000 at Union Hospital in Mayville, N.D.

Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. on Friday, August 18, at St. Edward's Catholic Church in Karlstad with Father Don Braukmann officiating. David and Myrna Cwikla were the eucharistic ministers. Pat Larson was the organist, and Frank Borowicz was the soloist. Reader was Ben Kleinwachter, and giftbearers were Anthony Hodge and Andrea Hodge. Casketbearers were Ted Chwialkowski, Clarence Guzek, Scott Kuznia, Randy Kostrzewski, Allan Kostrzewski and Francis Kuznia. Interment was in St. Edward's Catholic Cemetery in Strandquist.

Rose Josephine Borowicz was born on April 21, 1923 in Wright township of Marshall county near Florian, the daughter of Brunes and Sofia (Gajeski) Borowicz. She grew up and attended school in the Florian community and was baptized and confirmed in the Catholic faith there.

On October 21, 1942, she was united in marriage to August V. Kurowski in Polk county. The couple farmed in Nelson Park township of Marshall county near Florian until 1955 when they moved to a farm in Deerwood township of Kittson county near Karlstad. After August died on November 29, 1970, Rose continued to make her home on the farm.

On December 4, 1971, she married William Olson at Middle River. They lived on the farm until 1979 when they moved to Lake Bronson. Willie died on August 2, 1986, and Rose continued to make her home in Lake Bronson.

Survivors include two sons, Paul (Alyce) of Lake Bronson and James (Mary) of Hillsboro, N.D.; two daughters, Sandra (Keith) Finney of Portland, N.D. and Mary at Karlstad Memorial Nursing Center; five grandchildren; two sisters, Antoinette (Ambrose) Kuznia of Florian and Luella (Eddie) Grembowski of Aurora; and many nieces, nephews and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands; three sons, David, August and Robert; and twin daughters, Dorothy and Delores.
