Marie Olson, 79

Mentor - Marie Olson, 79, died Tuesday, July 13, 1999 at Dakota Heartland Hospital in Fargo, ND.

Funeral services were held on Friday, July 16 at 10:30 a.m. at Faith Lutheran Church in Mentor with Reverend Orlin Ness officiating. Marilyn Arness was the organist, and the soloist was Rayome Koehler. Casketbearers were David Olson, Roger Olson, Arnold Olson Jr., Sam Olson, Blaine Hanson and Vernon Rolf. Honorary casketbearers were all of Marie's grandchildren. Burial was in Faith Lutheran Cemetery near Mentor. The Petterson Funeral Home of Red Lake Falls was in charge of the arrangements.

Marie Pauline Amberson was born on March 5, 1920 in Woodside township of Polk county, the daughter of Peter and Palma (Kind) Amberson. She grew up and attended school in the Mentor and Beltrami areas.

From 1938 until 1966, Marie was married to Leonard Hallebrot, and from August of 1968 until November of 1993, she was married to Albert Plante. On April 8, 1994, Marie was united in marriage to Arnold Olson, and the couple lived in Mentor.

She enjoyed old-time music, dancing and being with people.

Marie is survived by her husband, Arnold of Mentor; one son, Richard (Virginia) Hallebrot of Barnesville; two daughters, Lorraine (Harold) Keeler and Margaret (Dennis) Lee, both of Red Lake Falls; nine grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; three brothers, Walter Amberson and Palmer Amberson, both of Solway, and Alvin (Ella) Amberson of Bemidji; one sister, Violet Pazdernik of Erskine; many stepchildren; step grandchildren; step great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, Leonard Hallebrot and Albert Plante; her parents; one daughter, Irene Larson; one son, Warren Hallebrot; two brothers, Morris Amberson and Arnold Amberson; and two sisters, Clarice Amberson and Julia Amberson.
