Margaret Olson, 60

Thief River Falls - Margaret Olson, 60, died Friday, December 4, 1998 at her home in Thief River Falls.

Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, December 8 at Faith Lutheran Church in Goodridge with Reverend Robert Dahlen officiating. Grace Hammer was the organist, and vocal music was provided by Joel Kezar. Casketbearers were Robert Blue, Norman Olson, Duane Olson, Douglas Olson, Richard Olson, Jason Blue, Kip McLean and Wesley Flateland. Honorary casketbearers were Kathy Neadeau, Darlene Needham, Bobbi Ann Smith, Mary Christianson, Jackie Arnold, Wendy Blue, Lucille Auginash, her five sisters and two aunts, Margaret "Rose" Lussier and Anna Spears.

A wake was held Tuesday afternoon and evening at the Little Rock Center in Redlake. Burial will be held today (Wednesday, December 9) at 10 a.m. at St. Mary's Cemetery in Redlake. The Green Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Margaret Joan Olson was born on August 8, 1938 on the Red Lake Indian Reservation, the daughter of Blake and Mary (Blue) Rosebear. She was baptized at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Redlake where she also attended school and grew up.

In the summer of 1962 Margaret was united in marriage to Melvin Olson in Bemidji. The couple lived in Goodridge until 1996 when they moved to Thief River Falls. Margaret worked at the Goodridge school and Best Western in Thief River Falls.

She enjoyed life, especially her children and grandchildren.

Margaret is survived by her husband, Melvin of Thief River Falls; two daughters, Norma (Kip) McLean of Thief River Falls and Barbara (Wesley) Flateland of Trail; five sons, Robert (Wendy) Blue of Moorhead, Norman Olson of West Fargo, ND, Richard Olson of Fargo, ND, Douglas (Jackie) Olson of Moorhead, and Duane (Joann) Olson of DeRidder, LA; 16 grandchildren; five sisters, Katherine (Oliver) Erickson, Isabelle Arnevick, Frances Barrett, Marlene (Randy) Parkhurst and Alice Waybenais, all of Redlake; two aunts; several nieces and nephews; and her special friend, Ervin Hermanson.

She was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, Charles Blue, Raphael Jourdain, Arnold James Rosebear and Robert Rosebear; and one sister, Marilyn Rosebear.
