Kathleen Olson, 74

Alexandria - Kathleen Olson, 74, died Monday, October 2, 2000.

Funeral services were held Thursday, October 5, at First Lutheran Church in Alexandria with Rev. Kathryn Rothman and Rev. Dan Christ officiating. Music was provided by organist Diane Alveshere and soloist Jack Trumm. Casketbearers were Terry Olson, Meghan Wabner, Joe Wabner, Jeff Olson, Darrel Holverson and Milt Reierson. Interment was in Kinkead Cemetery.

Kathleen Esther Scanlan was born on June 23, 1926 in Thief River Falls, the daughter of Paul and Ruby (Bennes) Scanlan. She graduated from Lincoln High School.

On November 10, 1947, she married LaVern "Fuzzy" Olson, and they made their home in Thief River Falls. In 1951, they moved to Alexandria. LaVern died in 1986.

On May 24, 1997, Kathleen was married to Larry Holverson in Alexandria. Before her retirement, she was employed in the bindery department at Echo Printing.

Kathleen was a member of First Lutheran Church of Alexandria.

She enjoyed reading, making candy and sharing her recipes with family and friends.

Kathleen is survived by her husband, Larry Holverson of Alexandria; two sons, Thomas D. Olson and Daniel P. Olson, both of St. Paul; a daughter, Laurie (Joe) Wabner of Clearwater; a daughter-in-law, Marjorie Olson of Springfield, Ill.; a brother Ambassador John "Jack" D. (Peggy) Scanlan of Washington, D.C.; six grandchildren; and special friend, Eileen Reierson of Thief River Falls.
