Inez Olson, 69

Thief River Falls -- Inez Olson, 69, Thief River Falls, died on Saturday, May 3, 1997 at her residence in Thief River Falls.

Funeral Services were held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, May 7, 1997 at St. John Lutheran Church, Thief River Falls, with Rev. Darryl Rothchild officiating. Burial followed at Greenwood Cemetery.

Visitation was held from 3 to 8 p.m. with a 7 p.m. prayer service on Tuesday, May 6, at Green Funeral Home, and one hour prior to services on Wednesday at the church.

Inez Marie Halle was born on March 22, 1928 at Mercy Hospital in Thief River Falls, to Art and Mayme (Mickelson) Halle. She was baptized on March 13, 1932 at home and confirmed at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Plummer in 1942.

She grew up in Plummer and graduated from Pershing High School in 1946. Following graduation she moved to Thief River Falls and worked as a bookkeeper for Jung's Bakery, Johnson Medical Clinic and Ace Hardware. Inez later worked at Arctic Enterprises until retirement in 1994.

She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, loved quilting and was an excellent seamstress.

On December 16, 1951, Inez was united in marriage to Ray C. Olson at Red Lake Falls, and the couple have since made their home in Thief River Falls.

Survivors include her husband Ray C. Olson; four sons, Faron Ray Olson and wife Holly of Brooklyn Park, Furlien "Fred" and wife Dawn of Thief River Falls, Marty and wife Julie of Warroad, and Doyle and wife LeAnn of Thief River Falls; nine grandchildren; two brothers, Arthur Halle Jr., and James Halle both of Minneapolis; two sisters, Avis Derosier of Little Falls, and Gloria Horn of Grand Forks, ND.

She is preceded in death by her parents, grandparents, and several aunts and uncles.
