
Rice Lake, WI - Funeral services were held Friday, September 26 at 10:30 a.m. at the Evans-Nordby Funeral Home in Brooklyn Center for Harley E. Olson, 68, of Rice Lake, WI. Interment was at Fort Snelling Cemetery in Minneapolis.
Harley was born June 1, 1929 in Rice Lake, WI, the son of Henry and Effie (Burquist) Olson. He attended school in Thief River Falls. In 1946 at the age of 17, he enlisted in the US Army and served in Japan. He was married to Dolores Wynne in 1950. Harley worked in Alaska for many years at the Army base and also in California. He also owned and operated a bar and restaurant in Howard Lake. His hobbies were reading and listening to music and was known to family and friends for his sense of humor.
Harley is survived by two children, Pattie (Rodney) Carlson of Gatzke and Kenneth Olson of Thief River Falls; two grandchildren; two sisters, Sharon Marie Harron of Milwaukee, WI and Verna Cook of Barron, WI; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Eleanor Bakke.
