
Lake Bronson - Bernice Olson, 76, died Saturday, May 8, 1999 at her home surrounded by her family.
Funeral services were held on Tuesday, May 11 at 2 p.m. at Community Covenant Church in Lake Bronson with Pastor Betty MacPherson presiding. Special music was provided by Shannon Christensin and Louise McFarlane. Casketbearers were Bernice's sons, Barry, Bobby, David, Ronnie, Dennis and Richard. Interment was in Riverside Cemetery in Lake Bronson. The Hughes Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
Bernice Coffield was born on March 20, 1923 in Minneapolis, the daughter of George T. and Sarah (Coburn) Coffield. In 1930 she moved with her family to Lancaster where she attended school.
On March 11, 1941 she was united in marriage to Ivan A. Olson at Hallock. The couple settled in Lake Bronson. Ivan died on December 18, 1994.
She was a member of Community Covenant Church in Lake Bronson.
Bernice is survived by five daughters, Nancy (Mark) Peterson of Lancaster, Jodi McKeag of Erhard, Sharon (Dwight) Undeberg of Lake Bronson, Sandra (Donald) Austad of Warroad and Deanne Collins of Thief River Falls; six sons, Bobbie (Bonnie) Olson of Glyndon, Barry (Connie) Olson of Lake Bronson, David (Ingrid) Olson and Dennis (Debbie) Olson, both of Greenbush, Ronnie (Virginia) Olson of Lancaster and Richard (Nancy Jean) Olson of Thief River Falls; 43 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; three brothers, Jerry (Karen) Coffield of Lake Bronson and Jack (Beverly) Coffield and Pat (Virginia) Coffield, both of Lancaster; and special family friend, Verna Lunski of Grand Forks, ND.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ivan; one son, James; one daughter, Lynn; four grandchildren; and one sister, Myrtle Lawler. A00003B1999MY26
