Adeline Olson, 90

Warren - Adeline Olson, 90, died Tuesday, September 2, 1997 at the Karlstad Health Center.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, September 6 at the Bethania Lutheran Church in Newfolden with Reverend LeRoy Flickinger officiating. Vocal music was provided by Adeline's family, and Orpha Schaffhauser was the organist. Casketbearers were Jim Engelsrud, Milo Windahl, Jerry Hanson, Wesley Bring, Jake Schaffhauser and Rodney Liedberg. Honorary casketbearers were Michael Ramsey, Tami Ramsey, Rachel Malo, Mark Malo, Nathan Lindgren, Jonathon Ramsey, Timothy Ramsey, Phillip Ramsey, Michael Malo and Benjamin Ramsey. Interment was at the Bethania Church Cemetery. The Green Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Adeline Bengtson was born on July 22, 1907, the daughter of Joe and Elsie (Subdahl) Bengtson in Marsh Grove township of Marshall County. She was baptized and confirmed at Bethania Church and attended rural school in Marsh Grove township. Adeline went to Warren where she worked at the Hotel Warren for several years. In the early 1930's she returned to her childhood home to care for her aging parents.

On July 21, 1935 she was united in marriage to Gilbert Olson in Thief River Falls. The couple farmed the Bengtson farm until 1939 when they purchased another farm in Marsh Grove township. They farmed there until 1953 when they moved to the Iron Range where Adeline worked as a seamstress for the Arrow Company. They returned to their farm in 1954. In 1956 the couple sold the farm and bought another in New Maine township, Marshall County where they have resided since. From the late 1940's until the early 1960's, Adeline and Gilbert worked the potato harvest in the Argyle, Stephen and Warren areas.

Adeline was a member of Bethania Lutheran Church and its Ladies Aid, Homemakers Club and was an active 4-H leader. She enjoyed reading, cooking and baking &endash; especially lefse.

She is survived by her husband Gilbert of Newfolden; two daughters, Elsie (Andrew) Lindgren of Detroit Lakes and Janice (David) Ramsey of Detroit Lakes; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one sister, Emma Schey of Karlstad; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Adeline was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Ben, Carl and two infant brothers; and sisters, Marie, Hannah, Clara and Ella.
