Holt - Hilda Odie, 90, died Wednesday, August 19, 1998 at the Community Nursing Home in Greenbush.
Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, August 22 at Nazareth Lutheran Church in Holt with Reverend Nancy Werner officiating. Yvonne Larson was the organist. Casketbearers were Vernon Reierson, Clifford Steinhauer, Chester Yonke and Gail Steinhauer. Burial was in the Holt Cemetery. The Green Funeral Home in Thief River Falls was in charge of the arrangements.
Hilda R. Odie was born on November 28, 1907 in Mickinock township of Roseau county, the daughter of Carl Gustau and Marie Anna Ringus. She attended grade school in Sprague, Manitoba, Canada.
On January 25, 1945 she was united in marriage to Elmer Odie in Reno, NV. The couple returned to farm in Excel township south of Holt. Elmer died on March 5, 1973 in Thief River Falls.
Hilda continued to live on the farm until moving to Roseau county to live with her nephew, Ernest Carlson, for a year. In August of 1995 she moved to the Community Nursing Home in Greenbush.
Hilda is survived by one step daughter, Joyce (Herchel) Mann of Salem, OR; two granddaughters; several great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
