Echo Norman, 83

Bagley - Echo Norman, 83, died Monday, January 3, 2000 at Greenview Health Care Center in Bagley.

Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, January 8 at Solway Bible Church in Solway. Interment was in St. Hilaire Community Cemetery in St. Hilaire. The Cease Family Funeral Home of Bagley was in charge of the arrangements.

Echo Margaret Norman was born on May 19, 1916 in Pennington county, the daughter of John and Margaret (Rydberg) Norman. She graduated from high school at St. Hilaire in 1935.

In 1942 she worked as a junior clerk for the War Department in Washington, D.C. form 1943 to 1947 she worked as a bookkeeper for the Warren Cooperative Creamery, and from 1947 to 1955 she worked as a bookkeeper for the Warren Clinic and Hospital.

In 1955 Echo went to work for Standard Oil in Fargo, ND as a clerk and later became a bookkeeper and computer operator. She remained with Standard Oil through its changeover to Amoco and worked in Minneapolis, Chicago, IL and Kansas City, MO before retiring in June of 1979.

After her retirement, she did clerical work part-time for Bullock's Department Store in Pasadena, CA until 1986. She moved to Apache Junction, AZ and after spending five years there moved to Bemidji in 1992. In May of 1994 Echo moved to Greenview Health Care Center in Bagley where she had since resided.

She enjoyed traveling and had visited many foreign countries. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family.

Echo is survived by one sister, Lillian Brekke of Bloomington; three brothers, Thule (Mayme) Norman of Bagley, Lewis (Esther) Norman of Bemidji and John Norman of Shevlin; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters and five brothers. A00003B2000JA12
