Kenneth Nord, 50

Red Lake Falls - Kenneth Nord, 50, died Thursday, December 18, 1997 at his home near Red Lake Falls.

Funeral services were held Monday, December 22 at 10:30 a.m. at Bethany Lutheran Church in Red Lake Falls with Reverend Gary Graff officiating. Peggy Miller was the organist, and David Miller was the soloist. Casketbearers were Mike Lee, Jerome Carrier, Jim Newquist, Bill Moser Jr., Merle Brevik and Arnold Olson Jr. Burial was in Oak Grove Cemetery near Red Lake Falls. The Petterson Funeral Home of Red Lake Falls was in charge of the arrangements.

Kenneth L. Nord was born January 1, 1947 in Devils Lake, ND, the son of Victor and Doreen (Huffman) Nord. He was raised in Plummer and graduated from high school there. He entered the U.S. Army and served in Germany. He was discharged as a sergeant.

On August 11, 1968 Kenneth was united in marriage to Kathlene Bradfield at Pequot Lakes. The couple lived near Plummer for six years. They moved to Red Lake Falls where he worked for Homark for 18 years, Dee, Inc. a short while and finally at Artco in Thief River Falls.

He was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church and a former member of the American Legion. He enjoyed hunting and outdoor activities.

Kenneth is survived by his wife, Kathlene (Kathy) of Red Lake Falls; three sons, Timothy (Peggy) Nord of Red Lake Falls, Daniel (Christie) Nord of McKenney, VA and Michael (Tammy) Nord of Grand Island, NE; one daughter, Debra Nord of Red Lake Falls; four grandchildren; his parents, Victor and Doreen Nord of Red Lake Falls; one brother, David (Myrna) Nord of Warroad; and five sisters; Sandra (Gail) Boice of Red Lake Falls, Sherry (Bill) Barlow of Tuscon, AZ, Pauline Nord of Fargo, ND, Cindy Nord of Little Falls and Kay (Allen) Kehn of Red Lake Falls.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Lyle Nord; and his grandparents, Dewill and Hazel Huffman and John and Irene Nord.
