East Grand Forks - Eleanor C. Ness, 87, died Monday, March 10, 1997 at the Valley Memorial Almonte Care Center of Grand Forks, ND. Arrangements were with Stennes Funeral Home of East Grand Forks.
Funeral services were held Saturday, March 15 at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church in Thief River Falls. Burial was in Rindal Cemetery in Thief River Falls.
Eleanor Clara Hall was born on October 31, 1909 in New Solum Township, Marshall County, the daughter of Ole and Mary (Loseth) Hall. She attended school and grew up there. She married John A. Ness on December 31, 1934 in Holt. They farmed at Stone. They moved to Thief River Falls in 1958. John Ness died in 1980 and she lived with her daughters family for 10 years in East Grand Forks. She moved to the Valley Memorial Almonte in 1992.
She is survived by daughter Janell (Don) Hunt of Grand Forks, ND; three grandsons; one great-granddaughter; sister Ruby Doran of Calloway; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; two infant sibblings; brothers Olaf, John and Clarence; and sisters Inga, Laura, Mary, Mildren and Alice.
