St. Michael - Kenneth D. Nelson, 68, formerly of Strathcona, died Monday, October 12, 1998 at Minneapolis.
Memorial services were held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, October 24 at the Gustaf Adolph Lutheran Church in Strathcona. The Collins Funeral Home of Greenbush was in charge of the local arrangements.
Kenneth Duane Nelson was born on February 8, 1932 at Strathcona, the son of Sigurd and Evelyn (Lillegard) Nelson. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. He attended grade school in Strathcona and graduated from Greenbush High School in 1950. He has since made his home in the Minneapolis area and was employed as an Edina firefighter from 1955 until his retirement in 1987. He was presently residing in St. Michael.
Kenneth is survived by four sons, Steven (Dawn) of Edina, David (Monica) of Winstead, Timothy of Edina and Mark of Los Angeles, CA; two grandchildren; one sister, Doris Gomsi of Santa Anna, CA; one brother, Roy (Bev) of Ham Lake; and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
