Karlstad - Christopher Nelson, 22, died Friday, March 19, 1999 at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks, ND.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, March 23 at Bethesda Lutheran Church in Strandquist with Pastor Erling Huglen officiating. Ramona Sjovall was the organist, and Dion Larson was the soloist. Casketbearers were Justin Holter, Corey Nelson, Jamie Donaldson, Brion Nelson Jr., Todd Spilde and Chad Anderson. Interment was in Zion Church Cemetery in Karlstad.
Christopher John Nelson was born on November 23, 1976 at Karlstad, the son of Merlyn and Ione Nelson. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith and attended school in the Strandquist and Karlstad communities. Christopher was employed by Opp Construction of Fargo, ND.
He was an avid horseman and outdoorsman, especially enjoying hunting, fishing and music.
Chris is survived by his parents; his daughter, Kayla of Lake Bronson; four brothers, Marlin (Doreen) of Karlstad, Brad (Amy) of Manvel, ND, David (Jodi) of Fargo, ND, and Dion (Karla) of Karlstad; one sister, Pam Grochowski of Thief River Falls; his very special friend, Jodi Holter of Lake Bronson; six nieces; two nephews; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents.
