Carmichael, Calif.
No services were held. Private interment was in Mount Vernon Memorial Park.
Carl Olaf Nelson was born on March 24, 1918 in St. Hilaire. He graduated from St. Hilaire High School in 1936 and served for five years in the Army Air Force during World War II.
Carl married his wife, Evelyn, in 1946 and moved to southern California where he attended the University of Southern California. He began his career with the State Health Department, Bureau of Food and Drug retired as a food and drug coordinator in 1979.
He was a member of the Association of Food and Drug Officials, California State Employees Association, Retired Public Employees Association of California, AARP, University of Southern California Alumni and Mt. Ralston Fish Club.
Carl is survived by his wife, Evelyn; three sisters, Helen Lancette of St. Paul, Betty Molstad of Thief River Falls and Evangeline Stretter of Fergus Falls; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Herbert and Ronald. A00003B2000OC18
