Thief River Falls - Florence Nabben, 91, died on Friday, January 15, 1999 at Northwest Medical Center in Thief River Falls.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. on Monday, January 18 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Thief River Falls with Reverend John Wollenzien officiating. Ida Nordvall was the organist, and the soloist was LeRoy Aasland. Casketbearers were Roberta and Marland Kloety. Burial was in Greenwood Cemetery. The Green Funeral Home of Thief River Falls was in charge of the arrangements.
Florence S. Sather was born on January 17, 1907 in Big Woods, the daughter of Lars and Clara (Erickson) Sather. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith and attended rural school near Big Woods.
On June 20, 1937 she was united in marriage to Henry H. Nabben at Wolf Point, MT. The couple moved to Thief River Falls where they raised their family. Florence continued to make her home in Thief River Falls after Henry's death in 1968. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church.
Florence is survived by two sons, Henry (Lynette) Nabben of Burnsville and LeRoy (Abigail) Nabben of Thief River Falls; one daughter, Sandra (Robert) Nyvall of Grand Rapids; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; one grandson, Stephen Nabben; three sisters, Mary Melo, Cora Larson, and Amy Larson; and two brothers, Leo Sather and Albin Sather.
