Henry Moser, 82

Red Lake Falls - Henry J. Moser, 82, died on Saturday, February 13, 1999 at Hillcrest Nursing Home in Red Lake Falls.

Mass of Christian burial will be held today (Wednesday, February 17) at 2 p.m. at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Red Lake Falls with Father Tim Bushy officiating. Kathie Knott will be the organist, and special music will be provided by St. Joseph's Church Choir. Casketbearers will be his grandsons, Rory Moser, Gary Moser, Bill Moser Jr., Earl Teggatz, Dan Eddy and Don Bassett. Honorary casketbearers will be all of Henry's great-grandchildren. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery in Red Lake Falls.

Visitation was held on Tuesday, February 16 from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Petterson Funeral Home in Red Lake Falls with an 7:30 p.m. prayer service. Visitation will also be held at the church for one hour prior to services today.

Henry Joseph Moser was born on November 15, 1916 in Roseau county, the son of Wilheim and Kathi (Kaml) Moser. He grew up and attended school in Roseau.

On July 8, 1937 he married Lillian D. LeRoux in Superior, WI. Henry was a beekeeper for many years. He also worked as an engineer in the Roseau Flour Mills and in the shipyards in Superior during World War II. Later he worked as a machinist, welder, master plumber, dairy farmer and egg farmer. He retired in the early 1980's and moved to Red Lake Falls in 1993. Since July of 1996 he has lived at Hillcrest Nursing Home.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing carpentry and especially making woodcrafts for the children. Henry also baked and helped make cookies. He was a member of the Oddfellows of Roseau.

Henry is survived by his wife, Lillian of Red Lake Falls; one son, Bill (Jean) Moser of Red Lake Falls; six grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; one brother, Wenzel (Betty) Moser of California; two sisters, Mary Shimpa of Crookston and Bertha Flovin of California; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by one son, James; his parents; four brothers, Bill, John, Fred and Frank; one sister, Wilhelmina; and one stepbrother, Les. A00003B1999FB17
