River Falls - Clarence Molskness, 81, died Thursday, November 18,
1999 at Northwest Medical Center in Thief River Falls.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. on Monday, November 22 at First Baptist Church in Thief River Falls with Rev. Ron Gullman officiating. Gloria Lee was the organist, and vocalists were Clarence's brothers and sisters and his daughters. Casketbearers were Joshua Bartoszuk, Benjamin Bartoszuk, Luke Bartoszuk, Reuben Bartoszuk, Micah Johnson and Andrew Johnson. Interment was in Wildwood Cemetery in New Solum township of Marshall county. The Green Funeral Home in Thief River Falls was in charge of the arrangements.
Clarence Molskness was born on December 22, 1917 in Polk Centre township of Pennington county, the son of John and Sina (Kalder) Molskness. He attended Black River School.
In 1950 he was united in marriage to Juliette Randstrom, and the couple lived near Thief River Falls where they raised their family and operated a farm in Sanders township. In addition to farming, Clarence did carpentry and railroad work and retired from Northwestern Hospital after 18 years in maintenance and engineering.
He enjoyed playing his mandolin and autoharp, picking wild flowers and drawing. He also enjoyed collecting and restoring antique trucks, automobiles and farm equipment.
Clarence is survived by his wife; two daughters, Susan (Edward) Bartoszuk of Racine, WI and Janet (Bruce) Johnson of Thief River Falls; six grandsons; three sisters, Magda Russum of Grafton, ND and Signa Jorgenson and Dagny Irvin, both of Thief River Falls; five brothers, Bernard (Ora) Molskness of Tacoma, WA, and Henry (Frances), Maynard (Irene), Gerhard and Raymond (Arlene) Molskness, all of Thief River Falls; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Amanda Hinden. A00003B1999NV24
