Viking - Allan Molskness, 39, died Saturday, February 5, 2000 at his boyhood home in Norden township of Pennington county.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. today (Wednesday, February 9) at New Life Assembly of God Church in Thief River Falls with Rev. George Bunnell officiating. Kathy Panek will be the organist, and Julie Waterworth and Ruthie Bunnell will be the soloists. Honorary casketbearers will be Todd Martell, Randy Martell, Jason Hill and Tom Molskness. Casketbearers will be Bobby Phelps, Wayne Peters, Randy Aamodt, Shane Grove, Chris Grove and Brian Grove. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery in Thief River Falls.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, February 8 from 3 to 8 p.m. at Green Funeral Home in Thief River Falls with a 7 p.m. prayer service. Visitation will also be held for one hour prior to services at the church.
Allan Duane Molskness was born on October 24, 1960 in Thief River Falls, the son of Gerhard and Dorothy Molskness. He grew up eight miles northwest of Thief River Falls and attended school in Thief River Falls. He worked at Leevers Grocery in Crookston and drove truck for Hydra-Mac in Thief River Falls before beginning his employment with Arctic Cat in 1987. His daughter, Bryanna Lee, was born in 1984.
On July 15, 1989 Allan was united in marriage to Becky Grove at Nielsville, and the couple made their home in Viking with their two daughters, Shantel and Shaelin.
Allan was a member of New Life Assembly of God Church in Thief River Falls.
He was an avid wood worker, enjoyed walking in the woods, enjoying nature and building campfires. He also enjoyed building and repairing things, snowmobiling, four-wheeling, small game hunting, and especially spending time with his children.
Allan is survived by his wife, Becky of Viking; three daughters, Bryanna of Thief River Falls, and Shantel and Shaelin, both of Viking; his father, Gerhard Molskness of Thief River Falls; three sisters, Anne (George) Olson-Trampus of Everett, WA, Lois (Randy) Martell of Cottage Grove, and Joan Hill of Warren; his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Kenneth and Mary Grove of Mentor; several other in-laws; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Dorothy; one brother-in-law, and several aunts and uncles.
