
Cold Spring - Gertrude Molitor, 90, died Monday, October 6, 1997 at the Assumption Home of Cold Spring.
Funeral services were held Thursday, October 9 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Boniface Catholic Church of Cold Spring with Father Cletus Connor, OSB officiating. Burial was at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery of Pearl Lake. The Wenner Funeral Home of Cold Spring was in charge of the arrangements.
Gertrude was born on August 5, 1907 in Wabasso to John and Elizabeth (Zins) Johanneck. She married Peter Schaefer on October 27, 1927 at Red Lake Falls. He died in 1934. She married John Molitor on January 10, 1953 at Cold Spring. He died in 1971. Gertrude was employed for 19 years at the Cold Spring Brewing Company. She was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church, Christian Women, St. John and St. Julian Mission Group and the VFW Auxiliary.
Gertrude is survived by her children, Mary Lu Schneider of Cold Spring, Ben Schaefer of Fairfax, VA and Stan Schaefer of Burnsville; five step children, Irvine Molitor of California, Gilbert Molitor of Windom, Lucille Freely of Stillwater, Leroy Molitor of West St. Paul and Andrew Molitor of Rockville; two brothers, Sylvester Johanneck of Red Lake Falls and John Johanneck of Wisconsin; three sisters, Evelyn Johanneck and Frances Marcotte of Red Lake Falls and Leona Boughton of Squam, WA; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, step grandchildren and step great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husbands; parents; one son, Guy Schaefer; one infant daughter, Irene; three brothers, Edward, Raymond and Clem Johanneck; two sisters, Nora Johanneck and Agnes Fecteau; one grandson; and one great-granddaughter.
