
Oklee - Henry Moen, 89, died Wednesday, August 9, 2000 at Oakland Park Nursing Home in Thief River Falls.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, August 12, at Salem Lutheran Church near Oklee with Rev. Robert Paulson officiating. Jane Kolstoe was the organist. Casketbearers were Henry's grandchildren, Kelly, Jason, Daren, David, Jennifer, Carol, Jon, Nathan and Janel. Burial was in the church cemetery with Johnson Funeral Service of Oklee in charge of the arrangements.
Henry Gilbert Moen was born on August 26, 1910 at Harwood, N.D., the son of Hans and Augusta (Engvig) Moen. He was raised and attended school in Harwood.
On September 3, 1939, he was united in marriage to Alice Christianson in Hickory township near Oklee. The couple lived and farmed near Harwood until 1941 when they moved to a farm north of Oklee. They lived and farmed there until 1991 when they moved into Oklee. On February 28, 1998, Henry and Alice moved to Hibbing. Alice died on July 21, 1998. Since October of 1999, Harry had resided at Oakland Park Nursing Home in Thief River Falls.
He was a member of Salem Lutheran Church, rural Oklee, and enjoyed hunting, shining, fishing and visiting with people.
Henry is survived by one daughter, Beverly (Stanley) Bakken of Hibbing; three sons, Bruce Moen of Oklee, Clyde (Laura) Moen of Thief River Falls and Clayton (Jacqueline) Moen of Rochester; nine grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and one great great-grandson.
He was preceded in death by his wife; parents one great-grandson, Mitchell; two brothers, Albert Moen and Melvin Moen; and one sister, Nora Feltus. A00003B2000AG16
