Richard Mills, 67

Thief River Falls - Richard Mills, 67, died Monday, March 8, 1999 at Northwest Medical Center in Thief River Falls.

Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, March 13 at the Green Funeral Home Chapel in Thief River Falls with Reverend Gary Halverson officiating.

Richard Bedford Mills was born on July 7, 1931 in Milwaukee, WI, the son of Bedford and Evelyn (Eichman) Mills. He moved to Island Lake and completed the eighth grade at Pleasant Valley School.

Richard entered the United States Army in 1949 and served in the Korean War. Achieving the rank of sergeant, he was honorably discharged from Fort Custer, MI on October 17, 1952.

He remained in Michigan where he worked for Oldsmobile. He moved to Monroe, WA and retired from O'Brian Industries in 1994.

Richard is survived by two sons, Richard II of Lansing, MI, and Aaron of Sultan, WA; four daughters, Lorraine of Lansing, MI, Shelba of Boise, ID, and Veronica and Naomi, both of Monroe, WA; two sisters, Corrine Mills of Karlstad and Elizabeth Perfecto of Thief River Falls; and several grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, an infant daughter, and one brother, Jerry in the Korean War. A00003B1999MR17
