Roger Miller, 53

Fort Worth, TX - Roger Miller, 53, died at the Arlington Memorial Hospital in Fort Worth, TX on Wednesday, August 13, 1997.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held today, Wednesday, August 20 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Bernard's Catholic Church with Father Dennis Weiland officating. Music will be provided by Elizabeth Odette, organist, and the Resurrection Choir. Casketbearers will be Kyle Miller, Tim Miller, Ron Dargus, Larry Rude, Tim Miramontes and Richard Johnson. Honorary casketbearers will be Roger's friends at Justen Boot Company. Visitation was held at the Green Funeral Home on Tuesday from 3 to 8 p.m. with a prayer service at 7 p.m. and at the church for one hour prior to services today.

Roger Lyle Miller was born on August 7, 1944 in Thief River Falls, the son of Lindet "Lynn" and Esther (Doran) Miller. He was baptized and confirmed in St. Bernard's parish and attended elementary school there. In 1962, he graduated from Lincoln High School in Thief River Falls and attended Bemidji State University for two years. He entered the Army on December 20, 1965 and served until his discharge at Fort Ord, CA on May 9, 1966. Roger then served in the Army National Guard for five years. Following his discharge, he attended the Minnesota School of Business in Minneapolis and was given a job as data processing manager with the Chippewa Shoe Company in Chippewa Falls, WI where he worked for 13 years. For the past 14 years, he has been the senior system analyst for the Justen Boot Company in Fort Worth, TX.

Roger is survived by his mother Esther Miller of Thief River Falls; two brothers, Richard ( Jan) Miller of Austin, TX and Tom (Margaret) Miller of Thief River Falls; one sister, Katheryn (James) Miramontes of Fifield, WI; several nieces and nephews; several grand-nieces and nephews; and several cousins, aunt and uncles.

He was preceded in death by his father, grandparents, and one niece, Jennifer Miller.
