
Thief River Falls - Lorraine McGinty, 85, died Thursday, August 19, 1999 at Fairview South Hospital in Minneapolis.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Monday, August 23 at Faith Lutheran Church in Goodridge with Reverend Bob Dahlen officiating. Grace Hammer provided the special music. Casketbearers were Ron Halvorson, Wayne Halvorson, Arlen Olson, Dale Olson, Darwin Olson and Doug Olson. Burial was in Greenwood Cemetery in Thief River Falls. The Green Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
Lorraine Adeline Olson was born on July 21, 1914 in Grygla, the daughter of Ole and Laura (Vraa) Olson. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. She grew up in Goodridge and attended country school in Reiner township.
In 1936 she was united in marriage to Harold "Mac" McGinty, and the couple made their home in Minneapolis where she worked at Cafe diNapoli for 30 years. In the early 1960's they moved to Thief River Falls and reopened the Pennington Hotel Coffee Shop. Following retirement, they moved to Goodridge.
Lorraine is survived by one sister, Inez Halvorson of Wyoming; two brothers, Andy (Norma) Olson of Ely and Leonard Olson of Goodridge; several nieces and nephews; and special friend, Mary Baker.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold; her parents; and one brother, Orvis. A00003B1999AG25
