
Warren - John "Jack" McGlynn passed away on April 27, 1997, at the North Valley Health Center in Warren, at the age of 81.
John Thomas McGlynn was born on April 19, 1916, in Parker township, Marshall County, the son of James and Lizzie (Cormican) McGlynn. He attended country school. He was in the U.S. Army from 1942 to 1945. On January 22, 1946, he was united in marriage to Lorraine Wittman at Warren. They lived and farmed in the Warren area. Lorraine died on September 6, 1982. John married Darline Schantzen on April 2, 1984. They moved to Warren in 1986.
Jack enjoyed being with his family and many friends. Farming was not a job to Jack, it was a way of life. He also enjoyed to travel.
Survivors include his wife, Darline; two sons, Robert (Jane) of Helena, MT, and Kendall (Kathy) of Warren; and step-son, Dr. Jay (Janet) Schantzen of Silver Spring, MD. Also surviving are 10 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren; brother Kenneth "Sam" McGlynn of Casselton, ND, and two sisters, Stella Novak of Warren, and Lorli "Les" Slaughter of Thayer, MS.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Lorraine, grandson, John McGlynn, daughter-in-law, Virginia McGlynn and sister, Mildred Parr.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday at the Zion Lutheran church in Warren. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 6:30 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday at the Quanrud-DuBore Funeral Home, and one hour before services at the church on Wednesday.
Interment in Greenwood Cemetery.
