
Greenbush - Louise McFarlane, 67, died Sunday, September 7, 1997 at the Roseau Area Hospital.
Louise F. Stein was born September 4, 1930 in Pennington County, the daughter of Clara (Oski) and Louis Stein. She grew up and attended school nor of Gatzke and worked for the Ed Johnston family. On March 28, 1948 she was united in marriage to Wilbert McFarlane at Roseau. They purchased a farm south of Badger and farmed there until 1955 when they moved into Badger. In 1965 they moved to Iowa for a year and then returned to Badger. In 1971 they moved to Greenbush where they owned McFarlane Seeds and Louise was bookkeeper.
Louise is survived by her husband, Wilbert of Greenbush: four sons, Nathan (Benette) of Greenbush, Rocky (Louise) of Lake Bronson, Walden (Karen) of Atkin and Sandy (Durine) of Greenbush; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; five brothers, Paul Stein of Forest Lake, George Stein of Wannaska, David Stein of San Jose, CA, William Stein of Minneapolis and Harold Stein, also of Minneapolis; and two sisters, Rosalie Gonshorowski of Braham and Carolyn Gurskis of Thousand Oaks, CA.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Arthur and Walter; and one sister, Edith.
Funeral services will be held today, September 10 at 10 a.m. at the United Free Lutheran Church of Greenbush with Pastor Dennis Gray and Pastor Alvin Sather officiating. Interment will be at the Badger City Cemetery.
Visitation was held Tuesday, September 9 from noon to 5 p.m. and one hour prior to services at the church. The Helgeson Funeral Chapel of Roseau is in charge of the arrangements.
