Greenbush - Emilie McDonagh, 91, died Sunday, January 2, 2000 at the Greenbush Nursing Home in Greenbush.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. today (Wednesday, January 5) at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Roseau. Interment will be in the Moose River Cemetery in Gatzke.
Visitation will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. today at Helgeson Funeral Chapel in Roseau.
Emilie Krause was born on December 14, 1908 in Ridgeville, Manitoba, Canada, the daughter of John Julius and Julianna (Schiewe) Krause. She attended school in Ridgeville and Greenwich, Manitoba.
As a young lady, Emilie moved to Chicago, IL where she met and married A. Clifford McDonagh on May 23, 1927. In 1934 the couple moved to Veldt township of Marshall county near Gatzke where they homesteaded. They farmed and raised their family there until retiring in the mid-1980s. After Clifford's death in 1990, Emilie moved to Florida to live with her daughter Evelyn. In February of 1994 she returned to Minnesota and took up residency at the Greenbush Nursing Home.
Survivors include one son, Emmett (Rose) McDonagh of Grygla; one daughter, Evelyn L. (George) Ryall of Naples, FL; eight grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Clifford; two sons, Herbert and Arnold; five brothers, John, Edward, Louis, William and Herman; and three sisters, Lena, Emma and Hilda. A00003B2000JA05
