
Fargo - James A. McCullough, 59, died Friday, April 3, 1998.
Funeral services were held on April 9 at 2 p.m. at the Boulger Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Dale Kinzler officiating. Music was provided by James MacKay. Sharon Balcom was the cantor, and David Weber was the reader. Casketbearers were Lloyd Halverson, Junior Lien, Gene Hehr, Bob Riemer, Dale Metz, Jim McLaughlin, Mike Carriveau and John Howard. Honorary casketbearers were Dennis Coleman, Bob Ballestad, Lorrell Lee, Burt Hanson, Leonard Thompson, Dale Kruckenberg, and former colleagues and co-workers with the bureau and WAPA. Interment was in Riverside Cemetery in Fargo.
James was born in Kelso, WA on November 6, 1938 and grew up in the Viking area. On November 5, 1960 he was united in marriage to Celeilia Agnes Weber in Fingal, ND.
For over forty years Jim worked in the power transmission area. From 1958 until 1967 he worked at Minnkota Power Company in Harwood, ND as a lineman. From 1967 until his retirement on January 2, 1998, Jim worked for the federal government, first for the Bureau of Reclamation and the the Western Area Power Administration (WAPA). For the last 11 years he was the supervisory lineman at the Fargo station of the Bismarck district, Billings area and Denver region of WAPA.
Jim loved the outdoors and spent a great deal of time at his lake home on Straight Lake near Osage.
He is survived by his wife; one daughter, Lynn (Samuel) Langit of Aliso Viejo, CA; one son, Steven E. McCullough of West Fargo, ND and one sister, Sylvia Nelson of Thief River Falls.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister.
