Moorhead - Dora M. Mattson, 81, died Monday, January 4, 1999 at MeritCare Hospital in Fargo, ND.
Funeral Services were held on Friday, January 8 at 3 p.m. at the Lutheran Church of Christ the King in Moorhead. Interment was in St. Pauli Cemetery in Greenbush. The Korsmo Funeral Service of Moorhead was in charge of the arrangements.
Dora Mae Hetland was born on January 29, 1917 at Pelan, the daughter of Syvert and Anna (Dufwa) Hetland. She grew up and received her education in the Greenbush area. She later attended Minot (ND) State Teachers College.
On June 11, 1939, Dora was married to Albert H. Mattson at Greenbush. Following their marriage the lived at Lake Bronson and Detroit Lakes. In 1943 they made their home in Roseau. The couple lived in Thief River Falls for five years.
They later moved to Roseau where Dora worked as a substitute teacher and teacher's aid at the school and as a part-time clerk at the Gambles store. During the early 1980's the couple moved to Moorhead. After Albert died on December 6, 1992, Dora continued to make her home in Moorhead where she was currently a resident of the Carriage House Apartments.
Dora is survived by two sons, A. Duane (Reggie) Mattson of Tempe, AZ and David (Staci) Mattson of Sioux Falls, SD; one daughter, Karen (Fran) Grossman of Moorhead; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
