
Oklee - Edmund "Eddie" Mattison, 56, died Sunday, November 8, 1998 at his home in rural Oklee.
Funeral services were held on Friday, November 13 at 1 p.m. at the Petterson Funeral Home in Oklee with Reverend Terry Olson officiating. Barb Melby was the organist, and special music was provided by Lori Melby and Carolyn Rystad. Burial was in the Finnish Cemetery near Plummer. The Petterson Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
Edmund William Mattison was born May 20, 1942 to William and Martha (Lee) Mattison at Baudette. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith and attended and graduated from Oklee Public School. Eddie served in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Korea from 1964 until his honorable discharge in 1966.
He was married to Mary Anne Meland, and they resided in Chicago, Minneapolis and Plummer. Eddie lived in Silver Lake, WI for several years before returning to Oklee due to poor health.
He was an avid sportsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing and all outdoor activities. He also enjoyed spending time with family and friends.
Eddie is survived by one daughter, Kristina Forsberg of Goodridge; two sons, Eric of Moorhead and Eron of Plummer; three granddaughters; three brothers, Wayne Walhaug of Oklee, and Steve (Tootie) Mattison and David Mattison, both of Minneapolis; three sisters, Sharon (Warren) Larson, Shirley (Gary) Rux and Carol (Richard) Clark, all of Thief River Falls; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.
