
Plummer - Florence Marwitz, 93, died Saturday, September 20, 1997 at Riverview Hospital in Crookston.
Funeral services will be held today, Wednesday, September 24 at 2 p.m. at St. John's Lutheran Church of Red Lake Falls with Reverend Curtis Brooks officiating. Burial will be held at Oak Grove Cemetery near Red Lake Falls.
Visitation was held Tuesday from 5 to 8 p.m. with a 7:30 prayer service at the Petterson Funeral Home in Red Lake Falls and also one hour prior to services at the church today.
Florence Dorothy Hinrichs was born March 30, 1904 at Red Lake Falls, the daughter of Claus and Lydia (Buck) Hinrichs. She attended rural school and was the first baptized at St. John's Lutheran Church and was later confirmed there.
On September 26, 1923 she was united in marriage to William Marwitz in Red Lake Falls. The couple lived in Barnsville for some time. They moved to a farm near Plummer. They later moved to a farm near Kent where they lived for five years before returning to Red Lake Falls. William died in 1976, and Florence lived in Red Lake Falls until she moved to Plummer to live with her daughter because of poor health the past few years.
Florence is survived by her daughter, Faith (Allan) Guillemette of rural Plummer; four grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; eight sisters, Louise Biliski, Sarah Hirsh, Lydia Bullet, Emma Gluckzin, Mathilda Rondorf, Hilda Linnertz, Rose Biedermen and Marie Hallstrom; four brothers, Hubert Hinrichs, August Hinrichs, Ernest Hinrichs and Henry Hinrichs; and one great-granddaughter, Misty.
