
Karlstad - Arlene A. Martinson, 62, died Thursday, November 18, at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks, ND.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. on Monday, November 22, at Bethel Lutheran Church in Karlstad with Rev. Mitch Tolpingrud officiating. Special music was provided by Kathy and Everett Englund. Casketbearers were Dale Martinson, Harold Hilde, Curtis Eilertson, Arnold Hilde, Darrell Peterson and Mike Hilde. Interment was in Jupiter Mission Cemetery in Kennedy. The Collins Funeral Home of Karlstad was in charge of the arrangements.
Arlene Audrey Anderson was born on February 26, 1937 in Jupiter township of Kittson county near Halma, the daughter of Ernest and Nora (Eilertson) Anderson. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith and attended school and grew up in the Halma community.
On March 16, 1958 Arlene was united in marriage to Chester Martinson at Lake Bronson. The couple made their home in Minto, ND for five years and then moved to Karlstad. In the fall of 1968 they moved to their farm in Jupiter township near Halma where they have since resided.
Arlene is survived by her husband, Chester; one daughter, Audrey (Gerald) Korbl of Greenbush; three sons, John (Debbie), Robert (Kristi) and Wayne, all of Karlstad; four grandchildren; three brothers, Roger (Bonnie) and Gary, both of Halma, and Gene of Galena, MO; one sister, Idell Anderson of Halma; and many nieces, nephews and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Raymond, Alvin and Duane; and one sister, Florence. A00003B1999NV24
