
Brainerd - Lucas Mandt, 16, of Brainerd formerly of Oklee died on arrival at St. Joseph Medical Center in Brainerd on Wednesday, June 4, l997.
Funeral services were held Saturday, June 7 at 11 a.m. at Oak Park Lutheran Church near Oklee with Reverend Daniel Faugstad officiating. Gelene Lundeen was the organist and Gene Arveson the soloist. Casketbearers were Adam Zeroth, Jeremy Larson, Nick Garding, Nathan Lundeen, Ryan Lundeen and Eric Reinbold. Burial was held in the Church Cemetery. The Petterson Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
Lucas Allan Mandt was born September 28, 1980 in Thief River Falls the son of Lance and Vickie (Johnson) Mandt. He was raised in the Oklee area where he attended grade school. Lucas was baptized at Oak Park Lutheran Church near Oklee and confirmed at Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church in Brainerd. In 1992, he moved with his family to Brainerd where he attended Brainerd High School. Lucas was on the wrestling team and enjoyed snowmobiling and fishing.
He is survived by his mother, Vickie Mandt of Brainerd; sister, Rachael (Greg) Sandeen of Brooks; brother, Leigh Mandt of Brainerd; grandparents, Lyle and Muriel Mandt and Melvin and Beverly Johnson all of Oklee; niece, Brianna Sandeen of Brooks; great-grandparents, LaVern Grimm of Brooks and Otelia Mandt of Lake Mills, WI.; aunt, Mari Lynn (Greg) Klesk; uncle Jeffrey (Kathy) Johnson.
Lucas was preceded in death by his father Lance on July 1, l987.
