
Goodridge - Ida Manderud, 88, died Wednesday, November 17, 1999 at Northwest Medical Center in Thief River Falls.
Funeral services
were held at
10:30 a.m. on
Saturday, November 20 at Faith Lutheran Church in Goodridge with Rev.
Robert Dahlen officiating. Margie Iverson was the organist, and vocal
music was provided by Joann Thorson. Casketbearers were Jeffrey Auld,
Scott Auld, Carla Manderud, Dale Manderud, Shannon Lundquist, Chad
Auld, Kari Strand and Jodi Manderud. Burial was in the Goodridge
Cemetery. The Green Funeral Home was in charge of the
arrangements.
Ida Victoria Peterson was born on June 2, 1911 in Deer Park township of Pennington county, the daughter of John Anders and Esther Victoria (Peterson) Peterson. She was baptized and confirmed at Oak Park Church and attended grade school at Deer Park. Ida and her siblings grew up fast as her mother died when she was only four.
In April of 1935, she married Clifford Rolandson, and they had two children.
Ida married Oscar Manderud in November of 1948. The couple lived in Detroit, MI where their twin sons were born. In the early 1950s, the family returned to the Goodridge area, settling on a farm and spending the rest of their lives in Goodridge township of Pennington county.
Ida enjoyed poultry and raised chickens and turkeys much of her life. She was employed at Arctic Cat for a few years and enjoyed the people she worked with.
She enjoyed flowers, gardening and cooking, earning many ribbons at the county fair for her labors. Leisure activities included reading, playing cards and visiting with family and friends.
Ida is survived by two sons, Richard (Anne) of Glyndon and Robert (Holly) of Goodridge; one son-in-law, Donald Auld of Minneapolis; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; special friend, Lester Kolstrand; one sister, Myrtle Johnson; several sisters-in-law and one brother-in-law; and many nieces, nephews and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands; one son, Jerome; one daughter, Clarice; and three brothers, Adolph, Melfred and Joseph. A00003B1999NV24
