Donna Majer, 61
Moorhead - Donna M. Majer, 61, died Saturday, July 8, 2000 at Young's Northside Retirement Home in Moorhead.
Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, July 11 at Immanuel Lutheran Church at Fargo, N.D. Interment was in Sunset Memorial Gardens in Fargo. The Korsmo Funeral Chapel of Moorhead was in charge of the arrangements.
Donna Marie Payne was born on April 25, 1939 at Fargo, N.D., the daughter of Sidney Irwin and Irene (Lenthe) Payne. She grew up in Argusville, N.D. and later moved to West Fargo, N.D. where she received her education and graduated from high school. She also attended the nursing program at the North Dakota State School of Science for a short while.
On July 1, 1960, Donna married Laurel Majer at Sisseton, S.D. Following their marriage, the couple lived in Fargo, N.D. and Greenbush.
Donna later returned to Fargo where she worked in food service at several local restaurants, including the China Doll Restaurant. She also worked in the dietary department at MeritCare Hospital. In 1990, she moved to Moorhead where she had since resided.
Donna is survived by two daughters, Marilyn (Curtis) Zimdars of Badger and Cheryl Majer of Thief River Falls; one son, David (Kari) Majer of Thief River Falls; her mother, Irene Payne of Cortez, Colo.; two sisters, Arlene Payne of Fargo, N.D. and Kay Honeman of Tucson, Ariz.; two brothers, Larry Payne of Cortez, Colo. and Derald (Blanche) Payne of West Fargo, N.D.; a half-sister, Luverne Hansen of Hillsboro, N.D.; three grandchildren; and special friend John Hovet of Moorhead.
She was preceded in death by her father and a granddaughter, Katie Marie Majer. A00003B2000JL12
