
Gully - Jason Magnell, 29, died Saturday, July 15, 2000 as the result of an automobile accident near Gully.
Funeral services will be held today (Wednesday, July 19) at 10:30 a.m. at Ebenezer Lutheran Church, rural Oklee, with Rev. Robert Paulson officiating. Julene Lundeen will be the organist. Casketbearers will be Pete Bronken, Jeff Johnson, Tom Kolstoe, Bryan Beckstrand, Kelan Bruggeman, Rod Johnson and Dave Person. Burial will be in Ebenezer Church Cemetery.
Visitation was held from 5 to 8 p.m. with a 7 p.m. prayer service on Tuesday, July 18 at the Oklee High School Gym. Visitation will also be held for one hour prior to services at the church. Johnson Funeral Service, Inc. of Red Lake Falls is in charge of the arrangements.
Jason Carl Magnell was born on December 21, 1970 in Thief River Falls, the son of Charlie and Corlan (Sorenson) Magnell. He was baptized at Ebenezer Lutheran Church and confirmed at Zion Lutheran Church in Oklee. He attended Oklee High School, graduating in 1989. For two years, Jason studied aviation mechanics at the Area Vocational Technical Institute in Thief River Falls. He married Toni Melugin at rural Oklee and lived in rural Gully. He was employed by Pine Lake Wild Rice of Gully.
Jason enjoyed fishing, hunting, woodworking, snowmobiling, farming and raising potatoes. He especially enjoyed spending time and playing with his children.
Survivors include his wife, Toni; two daughters, Krista and Brooke, at home; one son, Jacob, at home; his mother and step dad, Corlan and Robert Kleinschmidt of Oklee; his step grandparents, Art and Jean Kleinschmidt of Harlingen, Texas; three brothers, Randy (Nancy) Magnell and Wesley Magnell, both of Oklee, and Dennis (Danielle) Magnell of Fosston; one sister, Annette Magnell of Plummer; his mother-in-law, Pat Glick of Oklee; and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
Jason was preceded in death by his father; grandparents, Harry and Agnes Sorenson and Otto and Sylvia Magnell; his father-in-law, Mike; and two cousins, Lance and Lucas Mandt. A00003B2000JL19
