Jeanette Lysaker, 74

Crookston - Jeanette Lysaker, 74, of Crookston died Wednesday, July 16 at her home.

A memorial service was held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, July 22 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Crookston.

Jeanette Mae Peterson was born on September 13, 1922 at Proctor the daughter of George and Etta (Halvorson) Peterson. She graduated from Duluth Central High School, received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Hamline University and a Master of Arts degree from the University of Miami. Jeanette taught school in Dassel in 1944 and at the Northwest School of Agriculture from 1945 until 1948. She then worked for Northwest Airlines and later United Airlines. In 1962, Jeanette began teaching at the Palmetto High School in Miami, FL where she taught until 1983. On January 8, 1984, she was united in marriage to Herschel Lysaker at Minneapolis and the couple made their home in Crookston. Jeanette was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Crookston, where she served as chairman of the worship and music committee and WELCA. She also belonged to the Crookston Federated Women's Club, Book Club, Shakespeare Club, Bridge Club, AAUW, UMC Team Backers Club and the UMC Womens Association.

Jeanette is survived as her husband, Herschel; a daughter, Patricia (James) Bramley of Clinton, NY; two sons, R. Gregory Lane of Miami, FL and Donald Lane of Hollywood, FL; three stepsons, Herschel (Marnie) Lysaker of Ely Lake, John (Betty) Lysaker of Cashmere, WA and David (Dawn) Lysaker of Pelican Rapids; two grandchildren, 10 step-grandchildren, two brothers, George (Wanda) Peterson of Cedar Falls, IA and Stanley (Anne) Peterson of Robbinsdale; a sister, Estelle Rholl of Whittier, CA; and many nieces, nephews and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her parents.
