
Blackduck - Donn Lykken, 36, formerly of Red Lake Falls, died Friday, September 25, 1998 at the Northern Pine Nursing Home in Blackduck.
Funeral services were held on Monday, September 28 at 11 a.m. at Bethany Lutheran Church in Red Lake Falls with Reverend Gary Graff officiating. Special music was provided by Linda Olson. Casketbearers were DeNae Taylor, Eric Olson, Priscilla Lykken, Rachel Lykken, Adam Lykken, Andrew Lykken and Alexander Wold. Honorary casketbearers were the staff of Northern Pines Good Samaritan Nursing Home. Burial was in Oak Grove Cemetery near Red Lake Falls. The Petterson Funeral Home of Red Lake Falls was in charge of the arrangements.
Donn Gregory Lykken was born on October 13, 1961 in Crookston, the son of Donald G. and Marion (Dove) Lykken. He was baptized on October 13, 1961 and confirmed September 13, 1985 at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Thief River Falls. He lived in Red Lake Falls until he was three years old and moved to the Roseau Children's Home. As a young man he lived at the Fergus Falls Children's Home and as an adult resided at Riverview Nursing Center in Crookston. In 1994 he moved to the Northern Pine Good Samaritan Nursing Home in Blackduck.
Donn is survived by his parents, Donald and Florence Lykken of Thief River Falls; two brothers, Thomas G. (Yvonne) Lykken of Fargo, ND and Daniel G. (Susi) Lykken of Roseau; five sisters, Mary Beth (Francis) Vaudrin of Shevlin, Ann M. (Larry) Wold of St. Bonnifacious, Penelope Myers of Minneapolis, Pamela (Dean) Joppru of Thief River Falls and Patricia Myers of Thief River Falls; and many aunts and uncles.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Marion Dove Lykken; infant brother, David John Lykken; grandparents, Lawrence and Hazel Lykken and Aane and Esther Dove; and one aunt.
