
Thief River Falls - Arnold F. Lundin, 94, formerly of Stephen, died Wednesday, January 13, 1999 at Northwest Medical Center in Thief River Falls.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, January 16 at 1 p.m. at First Lutheran Church in Stephen with Reverend Michael L. Schendel officiating. Music was provided by organist Marilyn Hanson and soloist Reverend Michael Schendel. Casketbearers were Cliff and Lynette Nelson, Greg and Bev Underdahl, Jerome and Patti Nelson, Vernon and Sheila Nelson, Gary and Karen Nelson, Clarence A. Lundin, Ricky Lundin, Richard Field and Gayle Field. Interment was in St. Petri Cemetery, rural Stephen. The Adamson-Austin Funeral Home of Stephen was in charge of the arrangements.
Arnold F. Lundin was born on August 4, 1904 in Sinnott township of Marshall county, the son of August and Anna (Wikstrom) Lundin. He attended school in Sinnott township and was baptized and confirmed at St. Petri Lutheran Church.
On September 18, 1931 he was united in marriage to Bernice Nelson at Middle River. The couple made their home in Sinnott township and farmed until 1973 when they retired and moved to Spicer. In 1990 they moved to Hallock. Bernice died on January 19, 1993, and Arnold moved to Thief River Falls in 1995.
He was a member of First Lutheran Church of Stephen.
Arnold is survived by one daughter, Jean Sorenson of Thief River Falls; one son Richard (Karen) Lundin of Vining; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and one sister, Agnes Gaston of Long Beach, CA.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; one grandson, Douglas John; five sisters, Kelly, Sue, Ruby, Margaret and Hilda; and four brothers, Clarence, John, Art and Emil.
