
Trail - Fred W. Lundeen, 93, died Sunday, February 28, 1999 at Northwest Medical Center in Thief River Falls.
Funeral services will be held today (Wednesday, March 3) at 10:30 a.m. at Oak Park Lutheran Church, rural Oklee, with Reverend Steven Sparley officiating. Grace Hammer will be the organist and soloist. Casketbearers will be Randy Johnson, Craig Johnson, Mark Johnson, Terry Johnson, Kelly Lundeen, Gary Lundeen, Jim Reinbold and Dave Olson. Burial will be in Oak Park Cemetery in Deer Park township of Pennington county.
Visitation was held from 2 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, March 2 with a 6:30 p.m. prayer service at Green Funeral Home in Thief River Falls. Visitation will also be held for one hour prior to services at the church.
Fred William Lundeen was born on January 13, 1906 in Deer Park township of Pennington county, the son of Frank and Olga (Peterson) Lundeen. He was baptized and confirmed at Oak Park Lutheran Church. He grew up in Deer Park township and attended School District 52 there.
Fred moved to Grand Forks, ND where he worked in the brick yards before returning to the farm when the depression hit.
He was united in marriage to Violet Evans in Crookston in 1931, and the couple farmed in Deer Park township. Violet died in 1943.
Fred married Evelyn Prigge on November 8, 1969 in Oklee. She died on November 17, 1988. Fred continued to farm in Deer Park township until he was no longer able to do the farm work. Recently, he made his home at Valley Home in Thief River Falls.
He was an active lifetime member of Oak Park Lutheran Church. He was also a township supervisor and served on the Pennington County Soil and Water Conservation District board.
Fred is survived by one daughter, Fern (Donald) Johnson of Vancouver, WA; one son Darrow (Shirley) Lundeen of Trail; four stepdaughters, Arlyce Myrum of Chisholm, Marjorie (Chester) Myrum of Hibbing, Vivian (Bob) Bakke of Denver, CO, and Judy (Ralph) Kriel of Champlin; four stepsons, El (Carol) Prigge of Babbitt, James (Sandy) Prigge of Phoenix, AZ, Charles (Bonnie) Prigge of Gilbert, and Virgil (Pam) Prigge of Chisholm; eight grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; 29 step grandchildren; 51 step great-grandchildren; one sister, Otelia Mandt of Marshall, WI; and three step sisters-in-law.
He was preceded in death by his two wives; his parents; and five brothers, Oscar, Emil, Herbert, Walter and Floyd. A00003B1999MR03
