Clara Lunde, 84

4/21-Obit LundeTenstrike - Clara Lunde, 84, formerly of Thief River Falls, died Friday, April 16, 1999 at Meadowland Eldercare Home near Tenstrike.

Funeral services will be held today (Wednesday, April 21) at 10 a.m. at New Life Assemblies of God Church in Thief River Falls with Rev. George Bunnell and Rev. Merrill Kindall officiating. Judy Chappelle will be the organist, and Evadell Tangquist will be the soloist. Casketbearers will be Ervin Strandquist, Udell Lunde, Dean Lunde, Dean Erickson, Newell Broten and Floyd Erickson. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Thief River Falls.

Visitation was held on Tuesday, April 20 from 3 to 8 p.m. at Green Funeral Home in Thief River Falls with a 7:30 p.m. prayer service. Visitation will also be held for one hour prior to services today.

Clara Elnora Olson was born on October 4, 1914 at Ross, the daughter of Ingabrett and Anna (Anderson) Olson. She was baptized and confirmed in the Christian faith and attended school in Ross township of Roseau county. Following school Clara stayed at home to helpher parents.

On March 26, 1940 Clara was united in marriage to Iver Lunde in Roseau. The couple lived and farmed near Badger for 27 years. They moved to Roseau where Clara worked as a seamstress, doing the work she enjoyed. She also worked as a cook in a Roseau nursing home. In 1971 the couple moved to Thief River Falls where Clara worked in the laundry department at Northwest Medical Center. In 1996 Clara and Iver moved to Valley Home, and in 1997 Clara moved to Meadowland Eldercare Home near Tenstrike.

Clara and Iver were re-baptized in the Christian faith as adults at the New Life Assemblies of God Church where they were members. Clara enjoyed various church activities, being with her family and friends, quilting and sewing.

She is survived by one son, Dave (Mary Lou) Lunde of Thief River Falls; four grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one sister, Hazel Knutson of Roseau; and several nieces and nephews.

Clara was preceded in death by her husband, Iver on June 27, 1996; her parents; two brothers, Oscar and Bennett; and six sisters, Ida Sondreson, Mabel Broten, Gilma Reitan, Bella Kelley, Emma Sondreson and Agnes Rutland.
