Roy Lund, 85

Eureka, MT - Roy A. Lund, 85, died Monday, April 3, 2000 at Mountain View Manor.

Private family services will be held with local arrangements by Nelson & Vial Funeral Home of Eureka, MT.

Roy A. Lund was born on October 23, 1914 at Strandquist, the son of John and Elida (Benjlof) Lund. His father died during the influenza epidemic when Roy was three years old, and his mother later married John Westlund.

On August 28, 1938, Roy married Myrtle Lee in Newfolden. After working around the Newfolden area, they moved to Oregon in 1942 where he worked with Myrtle's brothers in logging. In 1954, they moved to Troy, MT where Roy owned a logging truck, hauling logs in the Troy area. In 1964, they moved to Eureka, MT where he continued hauling logs until he retired in 1984. Roy and Myrtle then delivered the Daily Interlake paper in Eureka for seven years. In the fall of 1992, they moved to Fortine, MT to be near their daughter Kathy. In 1998, Roy moved to the Mountain View Manor Nursing Home. Myrtle died in November of 1999.

Survivors include two sons, Ronald Lund of Elko, NV and Jerry (Glenna) Lund of Newfolden; two daughters, Joy (Don) Sanders of Greenville, NC and Kathy (Roland) of Fortine, MT; nine grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and one great great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Myrtle; his parents; one brother, Everett Lund; and one sister, Alice Nenow. A00003B2000AP12
