Myrtle Lund, 83

Fortine, MT - Myrtle Lund, 83, died Saturday, November 13, 1999 at Kalispell Regional Medical Center in Kalispell, MT.

Graveside services were held at Fortine Cemetery in Fortine, MT at 2 p.m. on Friday, November 19, with Johnson Mortuary and Crematory in charge of the arrangements.

Myrtle Betsy Lee was born on January 25, 1916 in Newfolden, the daughter of John and Hannah (Olsen) Lee. After graduating from high school she attended Teachers College in Thief River Falls and then taught school in Newfolden.

On August 28, 1938 she married Roy A. Lund in Newfolden, and Myrtle continued to teach until the birth of her first child. In 1942, the family moved to Oregon. Following the lumber trade, they moved to Troy, MT in 1954 and then to Eureka, MT in 1964. While living in Eureka, Roy and Myrtle delivered the newspaper, affording Myrtle the opportunity to visit and get to know people throughout the town. In 1992, they moved to Fortine to be near their daughter, Kathy.

Myrtle is survived by her husband, Roy A. Lund at Mountainview Manor in Eureka; two sons, Ronald Marlin Lund of Elko, NV and Jerry Howard (Glenna) Lund of Newfolden; two daughters, Joy Elaine (Don) Sanders of Greenville, NC and Kathy Gay (Roland) Snedigar of Fortine, MT; nine grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, seven brothers and two sisters. A00003B1999NV24
