
Red Lake Falls - Anna Linnertz, 96, died Wednesday, March 29, 2000 at Hillcrest Nursing Home in Thief River Falls.
Mass of Christian burial was held on Saturday, April 1, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Red Lake Falls with Father Tim Bushy officiating. Kathie Knott was the organist, and special music was provided by St. Joseph's Church Choir. Casketbearers were Wade Linnertz, Rodney Linnertz, Steve Joul, Andy Schindler, Don Schindler, Bob Schindler, Duane Rickaby and David Rickaby. Burial was in St. Joseph's Church Cemetery in Red Lake Falls. The Petterson Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
Anna Kees was born on March 25, 1904 in Red Lake Falls, the daughter of Michael and Caroline (Useldinger) Kees. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Red Lake Falls. She attended school in Red Lake Falls and also attended a seamstress school.
On June 1, 1926, she was united in marriage to Hubert Linnertz at Red Lake Falls. The couple lived and farmed north of Red Lake Falls. They moved into Red Lake Falls after retiring in 1962. Hubert died on October 4, 1975. Anna lived at Sunset Court in Red Lake Falls for many years and at Hillcrest Nursing Home since May 28, 1993.
She enjoyed crafts, making dolls and pillows, working in her large garden, canning, baking and especially spending time with her family.
Anna is survived by two daughters, Mary Ann (Raymond) Schindler of Thief River Falls and Louise Lessard of Oklee; one son, Don (Therese) Linnertz of East Grand Forks; 19 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; three step great-grandchildren; and two sisters-in-law.
She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; one daughter, Lucille Jones; one great-grandson; four brothers, John Kees, Joseph Kees, Lawrence Kees and Bernard Kees; and one sister, Madeline Kirschman. A00003B2000AP05
